Terms
Early access terms.
The short version: you can use Amoeba for free during early access, your code stays yours, and the software comes as is while we build it. Effective 25 August 2026.
Using Amoeba means agreeing to this.
These terms apply to the Amoeba desktop app, the service it syncs to (the Brain) and the website at useamoeba.com. "Amoeba", "we" and "us" mean the Amoeba founding team. By installing the app or using the service you agree to these terms. If you are using Amoeba for a company, you confirm you can agree on its behalf.
Free to use during early access.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Amoeba during early access. You may not sell, rent or sublicense it, and you may not reverse engineer it except where the law allows. Early access is a period we define, and we can change or end it, or change what it includes. Any paid plans will come with their prices published before anyone is charged (see pricing).
Bring your own, on your own terms.
Amoeba coordinates AI coding agents you already have, such as Claude Code and Codex. Those agents run on your machine under your own accounts and subscriptions, and the terms of their providers apply to your use of them. You are responsible for those accounts, for what your agents do and for any costs they incur. Amoeba sells no inference and does not act as your provider.
Do not break things that are not yours.
- Use Amoeba only in ways that are legal where you are.
- Do not attack, probe or overload the service, and do not try to reach data in workspaces you are not a member of.
- Do not use Amoeba to harm other people's systems or data.
- Respect your teammates: what they share in a workspace is shared with the workspace, not with the world.
Yours. Full stop.
You own your code, your prompts and the content of your sessions. We claim no rights in them. You give us only the permission we need to sync that content and show it to the members of your workspace, which is the whole point of the product. Amoeba itself, its name and its software remain ours.
It is early. Expect rough edges.
Amoeba is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. It may have bugs, it may change without notice and it may be unavailable at times. Keep your work in version control and back it up.
Limited to what the law allows.
To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, lost profits or lost business, arising from your use of Amoeba. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, which during early access is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Either of us can stop.
You can stop using Amoeba at any time and ask us to delete your account. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we end early access. Sections 05, 06 and 07 keep applying after that.
Posted here, with a date.
We may update these terms as the product grows. The current version always lives at this address with its effective date. If you keep using Amoeba after a change, you accept the new terms. For a change that matters, we will also say so on Discord.
