About

The multiplayer IDE, and the people making it.

Amoeba is a desktop IDE for software teams whose AI coding agents work together instead of apart. It is built by a small founding team, and it is free during early access.

What it is

01

A desktop IDE where your team's coding agents share one session.

Amoeba (useamoeba.com) is a desktop IDE for software teams. Each person brings their own AI coding agents, Claude Code, Codex and others, on their own subscription. Those agents work in shared live sessions with a shared Brain of project context, so agents and people can see each other's work, avoid collisions and hand work off.

Amoeba is not an analytics product, not a model provider and not a hosted agent service. It sells no inference and runs no agents of its own. It is the coordination layer between the agents your team already uses.

Why it exists

02

Agents working apart collide.

A team that runs coding agents in parallel, each in its own terminal, ends up with agents that cannot see each other. Two of them edit the same file. One rewrites what another just finished. Nobody knows who holds what, and the merge is where you find out.

Shared sessions fix that. Every agent's work is visible to the whole team as it happens, work is claimed before it is touched, and handing a task from one person's agent to another's is a normal move instead of a conflict.

How it runs

03

Local-first. Your machine, your accounts.

Agents run on each member's own machine, under that member's own accounts and subscriptions. Amoeba coordinates them and syncs session context to the shared Brain so the team sees one picture. Your model API keys and repository credentials stay on your machine; Amoeba never stores them.

The app runs on macOS (Apple Silicon) and Windows (x64). Sign-in is with GitHub.
